O’Prey Developments were selected using a tender process to construct 5 new homes at Cultra Station, Holywood. Three sympathetically designed new build houses were constructed to complement the existing listed station building which was restored to create two homes.
The work carried out by the O’Prey team was of the highest quality with attention to detail a priority throughout the project. The team managed the project very well and took time to collaborate and resolve any issues that arose at regular intervals. Our build was a long self-promised, high quality, high spec home and so finding someone who could deliver that was first on our list of priorities. Paul’s name kept coming up again and again in our research, as a family building firm with a very high reputation, who valued both that and their clients. We could not have chosen better. Right from the first meeting it was clear that Paul and his firm were experienced, careful contractors with a strong focus on the client. As the build progressed, we found that initial impression was heavily reinforced by the meticulous care with which the build was completed and the way that we were consulted, guided and helped in the myriad decisions which accompany such a build.
The other outstanding feature of Paul’s company is how the people who work in it take a pride in their work and how they treat their clients. Our foreman was Michael, one of Paul’s sons and it was a pleasure to work with him and all the people who came on site. They were very friendly and took time to discuss and explain all the aspects of the build. How often do you find a contest where the client tries to find a snag before the foreman fixes it? Michael won that contest hands down. Building our house with the O’Preys was a pleasure. We enjoyed the build and we are delighted with the outcome. The Belfast Hotel Group engaged O'Prey Developmetns Ltd to construct a new 80 bedroom easyffotel within an existing 19th Century building on Howard Street in Belfast City Centre. The contract value was £4m and the programme was 14 months.
The project was complex due to the restricted city centre environment, working within existing old buildings and the need for businesses to operate beside and below the site throughout.
Over the period of construction, the entire O'Prey team operated efficiently and effectively. They acted with courtesy, intelligence and integrity and we have no doubt that this approach made the entire process constructive and collaborative. This in turn produced a better end result.
The quality of workmanship is excellent and the O'Prey Developments approach to solving the inevitable on-site issues is practical and sympathetic. The company's Project and Cost Management service is excellent and is based on good communication and collaboration with the design team and client.
Our project finished on time and in the 6 months of operations since then there have been no significant building defects. As a company and as individuals we have no hesitation in recommending O'Prey Developments Ltd and hope to work with them again on our next project.
